I’ve been lucky this week to get my hands on lots of gorgeous children’s books and super-cute read BEAR ON A BIKE by Hannah Shaw, is one of them.
Bear has made a lovely cake for his peppy little friend Mouse. Off pops Bear on his bike to deliver it but OH NO! Mouse has just left on the incredibly important and very long-winded task of party food shopping. Luckily, literally nothing is going to stop this Bear from delivering his cherry-topped cake—even if he has to wear it as a hat to negotiate the ski slopes.
Children will love to follow Bear as he stops at nothing to deliver this sweet treat to his little friend. Even if it is looking less appetizing the longer it takes him…
Hannah Shaw creates bright, friendly illustrations that are brimming with energy and which young children will love. Book Biscuit enjoyed guessing Bear’s next mode of transport — and counting the cherries right to the end!
Book Biscuit’s best bit
Bear in Thailand. Obviously — because that’s where you get all the best pineapples. And little Mouse’s face when she’s got that tasty fruit in her little paws.
We reckon that BEAR ON A BIKE will be a total hit with pre-schoolers and reception-age children.
Other interesting things
